Bouldering Castle Hill, New Zealand
Photos by Cooper Roberts - The lack of a crowd at Castle Hill is odd considering that this area is filled with hundreds of contorted limestone blocks perfectly sculpted for bouldering; not to mention grassy landings that roll right to the base of the boulders and an unforgettable landscape. The basin itself is dived into three main sectors: Quantum Field, Spittle Hill, and Flock Hill. Take away a bit of texture, add a ton of pockets and what's left is a climbing style reminiscent of the French bouldering mecca Fontainebleau.
