Hugh Banner - Belay Device Review

No 223
by Matt Stanley

p>Hugh Banner Sheriff, $15
Summary: The Hugh Banner provides solid, workable performance in all categories. The thick walls of the tube are very durable and rope friendly, and the rubber keeper loop doesn’t kink or bend. The only real downside to the unit is that it doesn’t have any grooves for varying friction.
Pros: Stout, flexible cable.
Cons: Lacks variable friction.
Overall grade: B
