Marmot Hydrogen - Sleeping Bag Review

By Dave Sheldon

Marmot Hydrogen $299, 1lb 6oz, 30F
Summary: If you’ve been searching for a highly technical sleeping bag with generous width dimensions, consider the Marmot Hydrogen. The Hydrogen was one of the widest bags we tested and it sports a superlight Pertex Quantum shell, a snag-free half-length zipper, and open side baffles for easy temperature regulation. Marmot even stuffs this bag with pricey 900-fill down. The Hydrogen also boasts a hood baffle that provided great face comfort when the temps dipped and I had to seal things up. The only drawback to the Hydrogen was its price tag; at $299, it was the most expensive sack we tested.
Pros: Comfy face baffle; 900-fill down
Cons: Expensive
Overall grade: A-
Marmot: (707) 544-4590, www.marmot.com
