Boreal Rock Shoe Review
by Matt Stanley

Boreal Spider, $134
Summary: The Spider features Boreal’s latest iteration of their Integral Rand System, using injection-molded rubber to create a seamless sole/rand combo that eliminates the traditional glued-on sole. With this technology, Boreal is able to vary the thickness and shape of all sections of the rubber, creating a unique cupped sole that delivers strong edging without sacrificing smearability. The Spider is lined, so it won’t stretch much. When it comes time to refresh the rubber, seek out a professional resoler who can grind the rubber uniformly and apply a new half-sole.
Pros: All-day comfort. Versatile.
Cons: Chunky tongue-padding.
Overall grade: A-
