Mammut Rock Shoe Review

Mammut Grappler, $125
Summary: The Grappler is another of the myriad shoes sporting a cupped sole this year and, as with like models, provides a solid edging platform, though at the expense of smearability. This canvas-lined, board-lasted shoe also does well on thin cracks; the low-profile toe slides right into tight slots. The Grappler also has a generous amount of heel rubber, though a few testers noted that the heelcup dug into the backs of their ankles.
Pros: Solid edging. Low-profile toe.
Cons: Narrow last. Poor smearing.
Overall grade: B-
