14er Frenzy - No. 243
See as how Leo Paik from Westminster, Colorado, hails from a state with the most 14ers, it's no wonder he breezed through our crossword in issue #243. Billy Passarella of Price, Utah, put his home state advantage to good use in puzzling out the Canyonlands Code. Nate Fitch of Durham, New Hampshire, may be on the opposite side of the country from Yosemite, but he definitely knows granite, as he demonstrated with our Camp 4 Time Killer. If Kevin O'Brien of Nampa, Idaho, is planning a trip to Mount McKinley, he's got a good start with his knowledge of Denali history. Little Rock, Arkansas, may be a fair distance from Red Rocks, Nevada, but that didn't stop Peter Price from sussing out the Nevada sandstone Beta. Matthew Maxwell of Evansville, Indiana, displayed masterful knowledge of his backyard crags to puzzle out our Midwest Mix crossword. Jeff Hemstreet of Estes Park, Colorado, proved to be the master of our Ice Intel puzzlefest. Congratulations to Chris Jarisch of Denver, Colorado, on cracking our Eldorado Gold crossword. Congratulations to Patrick Jenkins of Odenton, Maryland, for his send of our Epics Flashback crossword in issue #233. Scott Ransom, of Charlottesville, Virginia, had the Beta down for the Gunks, itself the home of Beta. Jorel Potts may have a bit of a drive from his home in Eagle Ridge, Utah, to get to J-Tree, but that didn't stop him from achieving a winning Genius rating on our quartz-monzonite-filled crossword. Congratulations to Dean Kubani of Santa Monica, California. Dean proved himself to be a Beta Brain by successfully completing our crossword in issue #230. Emrys Hall of Boulder, Colorado, had the Beta down on our 5.9 Classics Puzzlefest. For his efforts at finding classics from Joshua Tree to the Gunks, Hall takes home a new Marmot Jacket. Steve Aho of Anaheim, CA, takes home a Redpoint Jacket from The North Face for his who-sent-what-when knowledge. Caroline Braley of Shawnee, Kansas, showed her mastery of Nordwand Knowledge to win our latest Puzzlefest. |
