Willi Unsoeld 1963 Everest West Ridge A wonderful teacher. An inspiring mentor. A mensch. Left the greatest footprints at the beach after '63. Lost all but 1 pinky toe(Spoiler alert!) I always have a good piece of nylon twine in my pocket where ever I go and have found the ability to tie a one handed bowline truly a livesafer more than once. One of my touchstones.
