8/26/13 - Alex Puccio of the U.S. wrapped up the 2013 Boulder World Cup season on a high note as she earned a silver medal in Munich, Germany. With this strong result, her best finish of the year, Puccio concludes the 2013 bouldering season ranked in third place, the second time she has reached this milestone. In 2011, Puccio became the first American climber ever to stand on the podium for a World Cup bouldering season, finishing third overall. Last year she was ranked fifth for the season.

Puccio finished second in Munich to season champion Anna Stöhr of Austria. On the men's side, Japan's Rei Sugimoto won his first World Cup gold. For the season, however, the dominant male climber was Russian Dimitri Sharafutdinov, winner of the Boulder World Cup in Vail, Colorado, in June.

Canada's Sean McColl made finals and took eighth place in Munich, and this gave him just enough points to earn third place in the season standings, his first time ever on the podium for a full World Cup season.
