Big Day on Mt. Evans

By Dougald MacDonald ,

Robinson on (November 11th, 2006) Circadian Rhythm (V13/14), in Poudre Canyon, Colorado.

Paul Robinson had an extraordinary day of bouldering on the slopes of Mt. Evans in Colorado last week, climbing all of the problems on the heavily stacked Dali Boulder in a single afternoon. What’s that mean, exactly? Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., in order, Robinson climbed:

  • Warm-up Crack Thing (V3), 1st go

  • No More Greener Grasses (V12), 1st go

  • Clear Blue Skies (V12), 1st go

  • Mental Masturbation (V12), 2nd go

  • Ode to the Modern Man (V14), 4th go

  • Super Gui (V11), 1st go

  • Dali (V8), 1st go

  • Pat’s Arête Low (V8), 2nd go

Robinson, 20, had done all of these problems before. Earlier this month, he made the fourth ascent of Ode to the Modern Man. In August, he made the third ascent of Jade (V14/V15) in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Date of Ascent: September 27, 2007,
