Friction Labs Alcohol Free Secret Stuff liquid chalk.

A quarter-sized dollop of Friction Labs’ new alcohol-free gel spread easily, allowing full-hand coverage, perfect for the 20-move crimp traverse of Orange Top Blue Sky (V8) at the Kraft Boulders, Nevada. While liquid chalk acts as a great base layer, the alcohol can dry skin and cause splits. However, Alcohol Free Secret Stuff provided a solid base without harming the skin—though one tester found that it required ~20 percent longer to dry. I rubbed in a dollop, waited 45–60 seconds, and added loose chalk. My hands stayed well-chalked and dry for the entire traverse—which was reassuring on the tall finish. MSRP: $19 (75ml)
