Somewhere between a bullet pack and a full-sized cragging or alpine sack, the frameless Speed 22 is ideal for stripped-down missions where deftness and agility are more important than pure carrying comfort. “This was my favorite pack for solo scrambles when I needed to carry a rope and harness for the rappels,” said one tester. “The pack stayed out of my way while climbing, and the minimalist (and removable) waistbelt helped stabilize it as I ran down the descent trail.” The thermo-molded backpanel suspension system was just enough support for the size. Though small in stature, the pack has a top pocket, rope strap under the lid, tool attachments, and compression straps for loading up when necessary. And at just 22 oz., the pack itself is a featherweight. Comes in two sizes: the S/M is 20 liters and the M/L is 22 liters.
