The kachula is the swiss army knife of blankets—and that’s something I thought I’d never say about a blanket. Unfolding to 50″ by 72″, the kachula is a blanket designed for the outdoors. The top is a cotton-flannel blend and the bottom is ripstop nylon, allowing for comfort and durability. It’s also treated with DWR, keeping it dry and easy to clean. I found a good shake would get the dirt off after a day of dragging it around at the crag. This made it great for keeping packs, gear, and dogs out of the mud. A built in stuff sack holds sensitive items, but can also store the blanket itself to turn the whole thing into a pillow. A snap system allow to you connect multiple Kachulas together. And, our favorite feature—an included hood snaps on to turn the whole thing into a cozy, water-resistant poncho.
