Ski-touring through the High Rockies during an avalanche-safety class, our tester Kevin worked hard to hit the perfect temperature. On the uphills, he was sweating; as he stood around during the course then skied back downhill, the alpine wind lashed at him. The Ventrix Hybrid Hoodie, designed for varying temps, helped him regulate thanks to its 80 grams of Ventrix synthetic insulation and venting perforations through the center, back, and underarms. “It kept my core warm and my arms from overheating,” said Kevin. The helmet-compatible hood cinches down with an elastic binding and rear adjustment, allowing for a wind-blocking fit. The interior chest pocket as well as the two large harness- and pack-compatible outer pockets allow for ample storage.
