“That’s a rad rope tarp,” said the gentleman borrowing my rope as we toproped on his. “It goes with that bag over there,” I replied and pointed to the Petzl Kliff rope bag. He looked over—jealous. Petzl’s Kliff was designed with sport climbing in mind. With 36 liters of storage, there’s plenty of room to carry the essentials, such as a rope, draws, shoes, and food and water. The large, zippered opening allows for quick access and swallows gear when in a rush. Moving on to the next climb just a short walk down the cliff? Two interior handles make packing and carrying the pack a cinch. The detachable protective tarp (4.5’ x 4.5’) features four quick-grab handles with differentiating colors for easy rope-end identification. The pack holds its shape well when fully packed, and the adjustable shoulder straps and sternum strap provide a secure, comfortable carry.
