Moderately aggressive, the Quantums are a near-perfect marriage of comfort and performance, and were ideal for the mid-level trad routes of Eldorado Canyon and Yosemite. The C4 rubber is “stickier than the others.”
Like most Five Ten shoes, they fit medium to wide feet best, with a broader sole. Testers report a suction-cup heel and ventilation via a breathable, stretchy tongue. Laces dial in a super-tight or relaxed fit.
With medium stiffness out of the box, they are not quite stiff enough for “super-thin or technical edging,” and over time they become softer and more sensitive, great for slabs and a variety of climbing styles and angles.
A high-performance lace-up for every climbing excursion, but especially long days and trad. Primo comfort and a fully lined interior to soak up your sweat make them perfect for lengthy multi-pitches.
