Say goodbye to those heavy and wasteful D-cell batteries: The Nite Ize Radiant 314 Rechargeable Lantern charges in 3.5 hours and features a built-in power bank to charge other devices, like phones and tablets. It puts out up to—you guessed it—314 lumens on high mode and runs up to 96 hours on low mode. There’s also an amber light setting for preserving night vision. But what I loved most about the lantern was the integrated carabiner handle that I used to hang the lantern inside my van or outside around my campsite.

Nite Ize states on their website that the Radiant 314 is drop proof up to 1 meter. I can confirm it’s well made and impact resistant. I took the Radiant 314 on a camping trip to Buffalo Pass in Steamboat, Colorado. On a particularly rough section of road the lantern went flying from the front of the van to the back and smacked into the wooden kitchen cabinet. I stopped to see if there was any damage. To my surprise, there was none. After many outings it still works great.

The Radiant 314 comes with a light diffusing storage bag that protects the lantern from scratches, softens the light, and can be hung by its draw cord.
