We want to become Chattanooga's premier indoor rock climbing and skateboard park, as well as providing space for training and yoga, a club area with ping-pong, pool, foosball tables, food, and a pro-shop. 801RIVERFRONT climbing and skate park is the evolution and growth of the climbing gym and skate park industry. We are the Tennessee Bouldering Authority Climbing Gym (www.tbagym.com) in Chattanooga, TN, and the collective vision of a surfer and a local skater to build a skate park of the highest quality that most people have never seen. Our goal is to bring to Chattanooga a long overdue indoor ROCK CLIMBING and SKATEBOARDING park. A place so big it will become known among all hard core skaters and climbers across the region.
Built in an updated and remodeled warehouse near downtown Chattanooga, the park will blend the old with the new. Totally surrounded by windows, skylights, and bay doors, the climbing and skating area will feel open and inviting with natural lighting during the day and a cooling river breeze at night.
Vertical Solutions, builder and manager of The Front Climbing Club in Salt Lake City, Utah will help us design and construct 10,000 square feet of world-class climbing with some tall boulders, top-rope and lead climbing walls.
The skate park will offer 20,000 square feet of wood ramps, bowls, and street course obstacles such as pyramid boxes, rails, banks, and half-pipes. The skate park will be designed and built by Hazard County Construction and John Saxton, designers and builders of the X-Games, with the help from our local Chattanoogan talents. We also plan to add outdoor concrete bowls shortly after opening. This park will be the first of it's kind in the country.
In addition to the climbing walls and skate ramps, the building will be outfitted with an enclosed yoga room, a training area, and locker rooms with showers. Before work or after class, 801RIVERFRONT will offer something for all, with hours that work with everyone's busy schedule. Programs at 801RIVERFRONT will be designed to build climbing-specific strength and overall health to help all athletes realize all of their training goals. There will be offerings for both youth and adults, including climbing instruction, youth climbing teams, and skate camp's to expose skaters to a full range of beginner, intermediate, and aggressive skating skills and tricks. We'll also stage nationally sanctioned skating and climbing competitions at the 801, bringing the national spotlight to both sports in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
