Join Global Explorers, Erik Weihenmayer and other cast members for the Boulder Theater premiere of the award-winning documentary film called Blindsight. The two night showing begins at 8PM on June 10th and June 11th. Erik Weihenmayer, the only blind person to summit Mt. Everest, will introduce the film on the 10th following a red carpet VIP event at Q’s Restaurant from 5-8PM. Visit: www.globalexplorers.org/events for information on ticket purchases for the movie ($16) and the VIP event ($50).

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayas, Blindsight follows the gripping adventure of six Tibetan teenagers who set out to climb the 23,000 foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of Mount Everest. A dangerous journey soon becomes a seemingly impossible challenge made all the more remarkable by the fact that the teenagers are blind. The resulting 3-week journey is beyond anything any of them could have predicted.

The film has won audience awards for Best Film and Best Documentary at the Berlin, AFI and Palm Spring films festivals. Proceeds will benefit Global Explorers, a Colorado nonprofit organization dedicated to providing life-changing immersion programs for students and teachers.

Be sure to check out the trip for two to Antarctica that Global Explorers is auctioning off as a prelude to this event! You can purchase tickets online at www.globalexplorers.org/events or by calling Global Explorers at 877-627-1425 or emailing info@globalexplorers.org with the Subject line of “Blindsight”.
