For our big interview I speak to Quinn Brett, who endured a horrific accident on El Cap, falling approximately 100 feet from the Boot Flake onto the Texas Flake when she and her partner Josie McKee attempted to speed climb the Nose in a day. I visited her at her place in Estes Park, Colorado, and we talked about how she originally got into rock climbing while growing up in New Hope, Minnesota, what it was like being a climbing ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park, what attracted her to big wall speed climbing, the events that took place on the day of her injury, and how her life has changed for better or for worse as a result of the accident and being paralyzed from the waist down.

I also check in Nina Williams, a professional climber best known for her highball boulder ascents, including the first female ascent of Ambrosia, an intimidating V11 in the Buttermilks of Bishop, California. Earlier this year, Nina teamed up with Climbing Magazine to produce an online course called Intro to Bouldering that covers the fundamentals of the discipline. And on October 1 a follow-up course called Boulder Harder will be launched. The 8-part online course covers gear, advanced movement techniques, proper training, and bouldering etiquette that intermediate and advanced boulders need to take their bouldering to the next level.
