Fundraiser Announced for April 28 in Boulder, CO
4/6/11 – La Sportiva, makers of technical climbing, mountaineering, Mountain Running®, hiking footwear and ski mountaineering hardware would like to spread the word about the launch of beanfever.com, in support of athlete, Bean Bowers. Bowers, a fellow climber, adventurer and magnetic storyteller, is currently in the fight of his life with cancer. Additionally, the Bean Fever Fundraiser is set for Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Avery Brewing, 5757 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder, Colorado.
"Beyond being a part of the La Sportiva family, Bean is an incredible person who needs our help right now,” says La Sportiva Marketing Manager, Laura Fryer. “Now that the website is live, we need to spread the word and encourage the entire outdoor community and beyond to lend a helping hand. Whether you know Bean or not, the more people we can cram into the Avery Brewery on April 28th, the better!”
Always appealing to the climbing crowd, free munchies, pizza, and of course Avery beer will be provided at the benefit on Thursday, April 28th. There will also be a silent auction, slide shows and live music. All proceeds from the night go directly to Bean and his wife Helen. For those interested in contributing to the auction, product can be submitted to:

The real deal!” Bean’s friends continue, “He walks on a nearly fused ankle and climbs and skis harder than most of us ever will, never making excuses and always ready to give his best.
