News link: Pete Robins and Ben Bransby have made ground-up ascents of James Pearson’s gritstone test-piece, The Promise (E10 7a), near Sheffield, England. Robins and Bransby made the third and fourth ascents (after Kevin Jorgeson’s repeat several weeks earlier) of the route at Burbage North, motivated, in part, by the sending sprees from Americans Alex Honnold, Kevin Jorgeson and Matt Segal in November 2008.
