Kismet Rock Foundation’s Annual Event To Heat Up the Valley On November 7
The valley will only be getting hotter this fall leading up to Caliente! A Night of Salsa Dancing to Benefit Kismet Rock Foundation, presented by Polartec, LLC, on November 7, 2009. If Boston’s best salsa band, Los Sugar Kings, and a free salsa dance lesson aren’t quite enough to convince event-goers, the lineup of food and auction donors certainly must be.
“We took a new approach to the auction this year,” said Sasha Eisele, Chair of the events committee. “Our committee worked overtime to come up with high quality items and experiences each of us would like to bid on and then we went out to find them. We are really excited about everything we have to offer.”
The silent auction will feature a week-long stay at a beautiful Downeast cottage in Brooklyn, Maine, web design with a year of hosting and maintenance from Brian Post of 6288 Designs and a Wilderness First Responder Course from SOLO in Conway NH, among many other unique items.
“We approached food for the event with the same attention to detail and a one of a kind experience as the auction,” Eisele added. “Instead of a sit down dinner, the event will feature heavy passed hors d’oeuvre selections from local restaurants. In addition to promoting a social atmosphere our approach will also give local restaurants a chance to showcase their signature foods.”
Some Latin flavor, of course, will be provided by Cafe Noche; Thai food from the Bangkok Café; Flatbreads from Flatbread Company; sushi from our secret source; traditional Irish fare from May Kelley’s Cottage; and a cider and doughnut station from gourmet country store and restaurant, The White Mountain Cider Company. Delaney’s Hole in the Wall and Chef’s Market will provide creative and tasty treats as well, and it can all be washed down with coffee from Frontside Grind. A cash bar will be available.
“This will be the event of the season. Our events committee is pulling all of the stops to make it unforgettable for our guests,” says Eisele. “Tickets are limited so get to the Kismet website and RSVP soon!”
