6/21/12 - The first interactive edition of Climbing magazine is now available for the iPad. The debut edition, Climbing’s Photo Annual, features bonus photo features, topos to High Sierra classics, instructional slide shows and video, and more. Ipad users can download the free Climbing app at iTunes or the Apple newsstand.

“We’re super-psyched to offer the first climbing magazine that really takes advantage of the iPad’s interactivity,” said Dougald MacDonald, editor in chief of Climbing. “The iPad is really an entirely new way of publishing. It’s a lot of extra work to produce these editions, but we think it’s worth it.”

Each iPad edition of Climbing will feature numerous interactive extras, along with gorgeous digital photos and pinch-and-zoom close-ups. Single copies are just $3.99, and subscriptions are available for $1.99 an issue or $14.99 a year.
