Downtown Fort Collins celebrates 4th of July


6/16/10 - This holiday celebrates America’s independence, and what better place to do that than in historic Downtown Fort Collins? The Downtown Business Association is proud to present daytime fun including live music, a beer garden, food, cool desserts, face painting, and kids’ attractions in Old Town Square. The event will run all day Sunday, July 4th, from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and is FREE to the public. Afterward, the daytime concert fun people may want to catch a free shuttle ride to City Park for the City of Fort Collins’ fireworks display. The public may catch the shuttles at the Downtown Transit Center.

This area will feature a beer garden, a day of fantastic Colorado music on Old Town Square stage, face painting, select vendors, a bungee trampoline attraction, great surrounding restaurants, unique shopping at local boutiques, and casual fun with friends.

The day’s music lineup will showcase some of the strongest regional bands representing many beloved American music genres. The bands take the stage beginning at 11:00 a.m. and will play until 6:00 p.m. when the event ends.

  • 11:00 a.m. – Soul Proprietor (Upbeat High Energy Funk)

  • 1:30 p.m. – The Informants (Chicago-style blues and swing)

  • 4:00 p.m. – The 3 Twins (A Rockin’ Good Time)

Also enjoy an Old Fashioned July 4th at the Avery House. Including fun from a gone-by era. Life was at a slower pace, and Independence Day was still a day of family, community, and fun. The Avery House (328 W. Mountain Ave.) hosts a full day of historic activities, games, food and fun. Just 3 blocks west of College Ave, people are encouraged to enjoy this free celebration as part of your Downtown Fort Collins experience.

City Park Fireworks Celebration (Presented by the City of Fort Collins and sponsored by Poudre Valley Health Systems) are from 7:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. See the City Park fireworks shot off over Sheldon Lake at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.). Transport buses will be offering free rides to and from City Park for the fireworks. They can be caught at the Downtown Transit Center and at the CSU Moby Arena.
