4/29/11 – Hard repeat ascents in Spain are being fired left and right. French climber Enzo Oddo, 16, and German Dave Firnenburg, 15, have repeated Chris Sharma’s Era Bella (5.14d) in Margalef. Sharma put the 150-foot route up in May 2010.

Oddo has already climbed several of the grade, such as PuntX in the Gorges du Loup and Victimas Perez in Margalef. He’s also repeated Sharma’s Realization (5.15a) in Céüse, France.

This was Firnenburg’s first 5.14d. “Yeahh, first 9a!” he says on his 8a.nu scorecard. “Felt hard to climb the last meters and was a mental challenge for me. Needed a couple of days for the ascent.”

Dates of ascents: April 21 (Oddo) and 28, 2011
