GoLite is searching for Four Everyday Outdoor Athletes to Star on New Website

Boulder, Colorado September 3, 2009 – GoLite, the premier manufacturer of high performance clothing and equipment that is light on the planet, is launching a new website and hosting a contest to find four everyday outdoor athletes to be featured on the new site and in the company’s marketing materials. In celebration of the new website and a recently launched rebrand, GoLite is looking for people that represent its values of innovate, sustain and inspire. Specifically the company is looking for people who have interesting stories about how they inspire others to get outdoors, protect the outdoors, live a sustainable lifestyle or have a passion for going light on the trail. People can either nominate themselves or someone else they believe lives the GoLite values and describe why. Entries are to be emailed to: howdoyou@golite.com and should include a description of their passion for outdoor pursuits, how they represent one or all of the values, their favorite trail, a few photos, where they live and a good narrative of why the people they hang out with would say they are the perfect candidate. And last, but certainly not least, they are asked to include their own handspun “Therefore I GoLite” line in the subject of the email. More info on the contest can be found here. As a thank you for submitting a story, GoLite will email every entrant a coupon code to use at golite.com. And four lucky winners will be chosen to win GoLite gear, the chance to model in a professional outdoor photo shoot by award winning photographer Jamie Kripke and be featured on the brand’s newly re-launched website and other marketing communications. And for those who don’t want to submit an entire personal story, they can become a fan on Facebook. Leave GoLite a comment with their “Therefore I GoLite” line, along with a photo of them on the trail and will be hooked up with a little something too just for the effort. It’s that simple. The contest runs from September 3 – 28th, 2009 and only US residents are eligible to win.

The relaunched website was designed and produced by Sukle Advertising & Design and Akavit interactive agency. Just a few of the new and improved site features include:

  • An updated look and feel using an interactive homepage with portraits and stories about everyday people and how they represent the GoLite values.

  • An innovative bottom navigation scroll bar that allows people to look at collections and compare items quickly and easily.

  • Clean but informative product pages with large photos and hover boxes that highlight product details and design.

  • The addition of a site search option making it quick and easy to locate products.
