La Sportiva N.A., makers of versatile technical climbing, mountaineering, Mountain Running® and hiking footwear, announced that its social media platform, La Sportiva LIVE, has added a new athlete beta section highlighting the achievements of the La Sportiva ambassadors. In chorus with the winter season ahead, La Sportiva LIVE’s new beta section launches today with first account from seasoned alpinist Freddie Wilkinson about logistics and beta essential for Patagonian expeditions. Fellow mountaineer Janet Bergman’s trip reports from her ascent of Peak 5394 in India are also showcased in the Climber’s Lounge section of LIVE. “This addition to La Sportiva LIVE is another way for people to get to know us and see what we are doing,” says Laura Fryer, La Sportiva N.A.’s Marketing Manager. “Our athlete team is broader than most, including rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering and mountain running pursuits. The athletes respective knowledge and experience in these disciplines is something they want to share as ambassadors to the La Sportiva brand.” Athletes such as Wilkinson will be on the road this winter bolstering La Sportiva’s presence at regional and national ice events throughout the country. Event sponsorship and ice festival line-up includes: Bozeman Ice Festival, Ouray Ice Festival, Adirondack Mountain Fest, Smugglers Notch Ice Fest, Michigan Ice Fest, the Mount Washington Valley Ice Festival and the Catskill Ice Festival. Ice climbers and festival participants will have the opportunity to demo some of the latest technical ice boots (such as the Nepal EVO GTX) from the La Sportiva line at each these events. “As evidenced with the success and popularity of the La Sportiva Mountain Cup, grassroots ice events are a great vehicle for us to create avenues of awareness for our brand.
