Lonnie Dupre Summits Denali

1/12/15 - Minnesota-based adventurer Lonnie Dupre reached the summit of Denali, North America's highest point, on January 11. This was his fourth attempt to become the first person to solo Denali in January.

Dupre was flown to base camp on the Southeast Fork of the Kahiltna Glacier on December 18. He climbed the standard West Buttress Route.

UPDATE: Dupre made it safely down to Kahiltna Base on January 14 and was flown back to Talkeetna on January 15, thus fully completing the first January solo of Denali.
