Marmot’s 6.0 oz Crystalline Jacket wins European Outdoor Industry Award

Santa Rosa, CA — Marmot’s 6.0 oz Crystalline Jacket for Women, incorporating new 2.5 layer MemBrain Strata™ waterproof / breathable fabric, recently won the Outdoor Industry Award at the international Outdoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany. A total of 280 entries from outdoor companies – from 25 different countries – submitted their innovative products to this year's competition, which was held for the third time. An international jury of experts presented a total of 27 awards at the trade show for exceptional performance in the field of design and innovation. Marmot was one of the recipients of the prestigious award. “We’re truly honored to receive this award” explains Randy Verniers, Marmot’s Director of International Sales and who for 15 years served as Director of Fabrics and Technologies for the brand. “The Crystalline and the Mica (men’s 6.5 oz version of the women’s jacket) are technically advanced products and represent Marmot’s on-going commitment to innovation and industry leadership.” Verniers, who attended the trade show in Friedrichshafen this past July reflects, “Ten years ago we made an enormous impact on the outdoor industry with the PreCip® ($99.99 USD) and today we have created MemBrain Strata™ – an outstanding value proposition for the consumer. With Strata™ I believe we have once again revolutionized performance shell gear by providing lightweight comfort with higher breathability at price points previously unattainable.” The see-through, stylish, ultra-light Crystalline and Mica jackets (both $130 USD) are being presented at this summer’s Outdoor Retailer trade show in Salt Lake City, Utah at Marmot’s trade show booth, #34037.
