Neck Heaven: CU Belay Glasses

Because of one too many car accidents, my neck and head hate being cranked skyward while dutifully belaying. So when I placed the CU BELAY GLASSES ($150, on my nose and realized I could watch the leader while keeping my head almost exactly level, I swore to never go cragging without them. And because the crystal-clear prisms are slightly magnified, they allowed me to see more of the action than with my naked eye. The CU belay glasses are surprising durable and come with a sturdy, foam-lined plastic case and cleaning cloth. They can also be worn along with sunglasses or prescription glasses. —Dave Sheldon
