News Link: Justin Edl has climbed a 50 foot right-slanting crack climb that he’s named Home on the Range (5.14-) at Vedauwoo’s Coyote Rocks near Laramie, Wyoming. This ranks as one of Wyoming’s hardest trad routes with Steve Petro’s Fiddler on the Roof (5.13+) at Freemont Canyon as the only serious competition.
The route’s grade has not been confirmed but Matt Segal had climbed on the route before Edl’s ascent and felt it to be solid 5.14.
On MountainProject.com Edl made this comment, “For me, the one time I TR'd it, I felt like it was equivalent to a power endurance V11, and putting in the gear on lead adds quite a bit to the difficulty in my opinion.”

Date of Ascent: August 21, 2009
