CARBONDALE, CO (September 14 – 17, 2017) As the only adventure film festival that exclusively features female athletes, No Man’s Land Film Festival (NMLFF) is at the forefront of a movement—redefining femininity in adventure and championing female athletes in outdoor media.
This September, NMLFF is hosting their third annual Flagship Festival in Carbondale, Colorado. It is a four day event with a variety of activities geared towards the modern outdoorswoman. Thursday, September 14, is Pitchfest, An opportunity for female filmmakers, storytellers and athletes to come together and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. The winner(s) will be awarded the monies generated from the Film Fund–a scholarship open to the broader adventure community. Friday, September 15, kicks off with yoga, then running, hiking, boating, climbing and biking meet-ups. Throughout the day there will be a series of guest speakers including Sarah Tingey from Alpacka Packrafts and Margie Woods, a trans-Pacific sailor whose film is included in the festival lineup. A Ladies + Men’s Night will precede the film programming. Saturday, September 16, programming includes morning yoga and meet-ups, and then a series of panel discussions on topics including Adventure Filmmaking, Women in Media and Being a Female Athlete. There will be art and photo workshops before the evening’s film programming lead by the No Man’s Lands’ featured artists and photographer. The final day, Sunday, September 17, will begin with morning yoga, followed by a local stewardship project and wrapped up with one final matinee screening. Upwards of 40 films will be shown over the weekend. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $35, Thursday and Sunday are $15 and can be purchased online at nomanslandfilmfestival.org/tickets
On a mission to celebrate and facilitate the collaboration of men and women who are deeply engaged in strengthening the female presence in the adventure arena, the goal of NMLFF is to connect strong, like-minded, action-oriented individuals who are united by their passion for gender-equality and an eagerness to experience their environment and passions through a uniquely feminine lens.

In their first year of operation, NMLFF sold out every screening—from the historic Crystal Palace in Aspen, Colorado to a gymnasium in Bishop, California. In their second year, NMLFF travelled to upwards of ten states and into Canada. In 2017, the No Man’s Land tour is looking to continue to grow and bring their mission of redefining femininity to a global community.
