News Link: Adam Ondra, the 16-year-old from the Czech Republic, has completed his hardest route yet, and it was a first ascent: Marina Superstar (9a+/b, or 5.15a/b) at the Domusnovas area in southern Sardinia, Italy. Ondra spent four days working on the 35-meter cave route, after three attempts last year.
Marina Superstar is the young climber’s fifth 5.15 route, and he says it’s “definitely my hardest yet.” In 2008, he climbed La Rambla at Siurana Spain and the second ascent of Open Air in Austria. This year he has already done the second ascent of Papichulo in Spain and Corona in Germany.
Date of Ascent: October 20, 2009
