8/2/10 – As the 2010 Bouldering World Cup season came to an end last weekend in Munich, Czech wunderkind Adam Ondra took the gold for the men, while Japan’s Akiyo Noguchi topped the medal platform for the women, making this year her second consecutive BWC victory.
Kilian Fischhuber, a past World Cup winner, took fourth in the competition, while fellow Austrian and strong climber Anna Stöhr scored a silver for the women.
Alex Johnson, the only American to compete in all 2010 Bouldering World Cups, placed a strong fourth, upping the U.S.’s game in international competitions. Her first full season as a World Cup competitor was impressive, pulling off a first, second, and two top-six finishes.
