4/11/12 – Adding to the impressive onsights by Matilda Söderlund lately, Adam Ondra has onsighted Bella Regis (5.14c) at Arco, Italy.

Ondra admits that he’s unsure of the grade but it’s an “awesome line.” A day later, he climbed an unknown 5.14d, for which he only needed one day to finish.

His onsight of Bella Regis adds to his already impressive 5.14c onsight ticklist: L’Avaro (Tetto di Sarre, Italy); La Rubia (Villanueva del Rosario, Spain); Blanquita (Oliana, Spain); Mind Control (Oliana, Spain); Powerade (Vadiello/La Caverna, Spain); Bizi Euskaraz (Etxauri, Spain); and Kidetasunaren Balio Erantsia (Etxauri, Spain).

In mid-March, Ondra completed the first ascent of a 5.14d called To tu ještě nebylo in the Czech Republic. What’s notable is that Ondra partially bolted the route with fellow Czech climber Ondra Benes.

Dates of ascents: April 7-8, 2012
