Seattle, WA – On July 5th – 10th, 2009 – America's leading high altitude mountaineer, Ed Viesturs, joined the 2009 Camp Patriot Climb Team for a kick off dinner at Qwest Field on Sunday, July 5 as they prepared for their ascent of Mount Rainier on July 7.

Camp Patriot is a non-profit organization that provides outdoor recreational experiences to renew the dreams of disabled American veterans.

Rainier Mountaineering Inc. (RMI) and International Mountain Guides (IMG) along with several other professional guides will be involved to help make this dream to summit Mount Rainier come true for these American heroes.

Last years climbers were Ryan Job (blind former navy seal injured in IRAQ), Chad Jukes (Army SSG amputee injured in IRAQ) and Joey Martinez (Partially blind Marine Recon injured in IRAQ).

Camp Patriot’s unique program has captured the attention of CNN, Backpacker Magazine, The Seattle Times, Tacoma News Tribune, and the KIRO’s, Ron & Don Show. This year the climb team welcomes Fox Sports News to join them for their quest for the summit.
