Salavat Rakhmetov of Russia proved once again that, at 35 years old, he still keeps up with the youngsters in World Cup bouldering. Rakhmetov won the World Cup in Rovereto, Italy, on September 12 and 13, besting Daniel Dulac of France and the rising star Kilian Fischhuber of Austria. In the women’s competition, it was top-ranked Sandrine Levet of France on top again, over Juliette Danion of France and Olga Bibik of Russia. Levet has won every international bouldering contest she has entered since March; she also finished third in lead climbing in the World Championships in July. Jen Lemaire of the U.S. was the only North American in the Rovereto comp; she finished 19th.
