Robinson Snags V14, V15 in RMNP

4/26/12 – Paul Robinson is making the most of his time in Colorado: He’s repeated Mirror Reality (V14) and made the second ascent of Paint it Black (V15), both Daniel Woods problems in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Robinson spent five days working Mirror Reality before he finally stuck the crux move, a dyno over a bulge to a bad sloper. (Read Woods’ full description of the problem here.) He immediately began working Paint it Black and came close to sending, but didn’t have enough pads to commit to the topout. He returned the next day and finished Paint it Black on his third attempt. “I had climbed one of the best boulders in the country, and I was super-psyched to have spent two amazing days in the park climbing on amazing rock in pristine wilderness,” he wrote on his blog.

His next goal is Hypnotized Minds, a Woods V15 in RMNP established in October 2010. (Watch Woods climbing it here.)

Woods put up Mirror Reality in January 2012, and followed up with Paint it Black in March.

Dates of ascents: April 17-18, 2012
