Canadian Nels Rosaasen won his fourth PCA bouldering competition in a row Saturday night in Salt Lake City, while Lauren Lee took her first PCA victory in the women’s competition. The SLC Slam II drew a field of 74 men and 57 women, including many of North America’s top boulderers. Chris Sharma was second among the men, John Stack placed third, and Wasatch Front local Steven Jeffery was fourth. Rob D’Anastasio, ranked second overall after the first two PCA Tour competitions, did not enter the Salt Lake comp. After finishing second and third at earlier PCA stops, Lauren Lee finally took the top spot in a huge field that was missing only Tori Allen and Lisa Rands among America’s best female boulderers. Alex Johnson finished second, and Angela Payne placed third, giving Payne enough points to move into first place in the overall tour standings, ahead of Meagan Martin, who placed seventh in Salt Lake. The next PCA Tour competition is slated for March 25-27 in Arcadia, California.
