Summit Youth Aventures, Inc. Takes kids from Los Angeles to the Antarctic


On Feb 12th, Summit Youth Adventures, Inc. a new non-profit organization that provides wilderness experiences to at-risk youth will be sending two Los Angeles area youth to be a part of Mission Antarctica U.S.A.Summit Youth Adventures was founded to support "at risk" youth on wilderness and environmental experiences that will enrich and inspire their lives as well as increase self-esteem and confidence. Bill Snyder, founder of Summit Youth Adventures was asked to choose youth for this expedition based on his experience working with teens in the wilderness. This is SYA's first major project and Bill chose one teen from a group home agency in the San Fernando Valley, Children Are Our Future and the other from the Jefferson Park area of LA, referred by Outward Bound Adventures, a non-profit similar to SYA.Mission Antarctica U.S.A. is a non-profit organization that ensures the everlasting preservation of our last great wilderness, home to the South Pole. This journey is made up of an international team. Mission Antarctica U.S.A. helps to protect the continent of Antarctica from environmental threats and maintaining the continent as a center for scientific research and conservation.
