The Fifteenth Annual International Climbers' Festival

The International Climbers’ Festival is an annual event that began 15 years ago with the mission of promoting and celebrating the sport of rock climbing. The 2008 Festival will be held this July 9th - 13th in Lander, Wyoming.

The festival is a non-profit organization and proceeds help support three local Lander scholarships and programs: the Jim Ratz Memorial Scholarship, the Todd Skinner Foundation and BARF (the local Bolt and Anchor Replacement Fund).

There are a number of new events added to the festival schedule this year that we are very excited about, highlights being:

  • Scottish phenom, Dave Macleod, in his FIRST U.S. appearance — presenting his "Safe is Risky" slideshow and holding some clinics at the Wild Iris climbing area.

  • Chris Lindner, who will introduce his new movie "Spray" at the Lander Bar opening party and hold a few climbing clinics at Wild Iris.

  • Local legend, Dave Anderson, debuting his inspiring "The Spirit of Climbing" presentation.

  • ODub, climber/rapper extraordinaire, emcee'ing the festival, the new nighttime dyno comp and rapping some new tunes related to Lander climbing.

  • The Telluride Mountainfilm film festival on tour showing two screenings of inspirational outdoor short films.

  • Climbing self-rescue clinics run by Jackson Hole Mountain Guides Rob Hess and Laura Schmonses

  • Music from the Spring Creek Bluegrass Band, a stellar bluegrass band out of Colorado.

  • The annual and popular all day trade fair, which features a new slackline competition, to be run by Slackline Express from Colorado.

  • A 10K Trail Run at Wild Iris, morning yoga sessions, and road bike rides.

  • Other new comps: sumo wrestling boulder pad comp and the1st Annual "Cowboy Up" weekend long climbing comp, where everyone who enters gets a discount on Acopa climbing shoes.

  • Pancake breakfasts, shoe demos, and an all-you-can-eat pizza and beer party!
