The HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation will be holding its Third Annual Colorado Climb4Life in Friday, June 26 through Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Boulder. The event is hosted by REI Boulder (1789 28th Street), Colorado Mountain School and the Boulder Rock Club (2829 Mapleton Avenue) and will kick off June 26 at REI Boulder at 3:00p.m. Early registration costs $50 until June 1, and $65 after that time. Participants can register at www.climb4lifeco09.kintera.org.
The HERA Foundation raises money for research and awareness initiatives through community sponsorships and events. Of the funds raised, 85 percent goes towards medical research and awareness initiatives. According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), one in 72 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer during their lifetime, and about 20,000 American women will be diagnosed each year. Events like Climb4Life Colorado enable the HERA Foundation to fund research that will help find a cure.
