4/3/13 – Carlo Traversi has made the first ascent of The Kingdom (V15) in Brione, Switzerland, making it his sixth at this grade.
After continually working the route, Traversi finally pieced the problem together on his last day in Switzerland, describing it as the "hardest five moves I've ever linked together, and it's perfectly my style. Shouldery moves, high feet, and very tense climbing." Traversi is proposing V15 for the problem, but is interested to see what others have to say.
The Kingdom stands just left of Vecchio Leone (V13), a route established by Bernd Zangerl in 2004 and "heralded by the world’s top climbers as a benchmark for its grade, movement, aesthetics, and beauty," says Traversi on his website. Traversi climbed this problem in October 2012.
Traversi has been cranking hard on other Swiss boulder problems this year, having sent The Story of Two Worlds (V15) and Delusions of Grandeur (V12) last month. He also finished T-Rex Assis (V11) in Fontainebleau, France.
