Woods, Harrington Are National Champs

Daniel Woods and Emily Harrington won the Sterling Rope/USA Climbing Adult National Championship on March 4, giving the two Coloradans the top spots on the 2006 U.S. Adult Difficulty Team. Woods was the only male to flash the men’s finals route at the MetroRock gym in Everett, Massachusetts. Harrington and Andrea Szekely both flashed the women’s final, forcing a superfinal on a tweaked version of the men’s route. The U.S. Adult Speed Climbing Team also was chosen at MetroRock. Team members will receive a total of $6,000 in travel stipends from Sterling Rope.
