Common Questions
A subscription gets you access to member-exclusive content and an ad-free experience on Outside Online (starting July 2021), a magazine subscription of your choice (U.S. residents only), and limited brand-specific discounts. An Outside+ membership provides you with two magazine subscriptions (Outside, in addition to another magazine of your choice), ad-free access and member-exclusive content to every website in our portfolio, Gaia GPS premium, and more.
U.S. residents may choose a print subscription from these 12 titles: Backpacker, Beta, Clean Eating, Climbing, Outside, Ski, Trail Runner, Triathlete, VeloNews, Women’s Running, Yoga Journal. Outside+ members may choose to receive Outside in addition to one other magazine—so two magazine subscriptions total.
We do not offer refunds for Outside+ or brand-specific subscriptions. Memberships are auto-renewed annually. If you choose to cancel auto-renew, you’ll stay a member until your renewal date. Read more
Unfortunately, not yet. Only U.S. residents have the option to receive print magazines and books with their membership. An option for international readers to pay the additional postage to receive these print products will be available soon!
If you join and pick the same magazine you are currently subscribed to, the subscription will be reset to align with the timing of your membership. Because your current subscription is canceled and aligned with your new membership term, you might lose prepaid issues from your current subscription. Contact us if you're concerned about this, and we'll work something out.
