This may be a first for us: A climbing music video!
Two climbers in a band, The OhOhOhs, had a trip planned to the UK’s Peak District in 2020, but the pandemic and lockdowns put an end to that. Thus, searching for ways to stay psyched, they composed the song “Peak District” as an ode to the trip that didn’t happen, and solicited climbing clips from climbers all over the world.
The result is the video below, “Peak District—A Day in Climbers Life.” Produced by Nora Caterin Born, it’s a “music video about the passion for climbing and nature featuring Stefan Glowacz, Isabelle Patissier, Juliane Wurm, Bernd Zangerl, James Pearson, Les freres Mawem, Pete Whittaker, and many more…”
They continue: “Man alone in the rocks becomes one with nature. With an irrepressible urge for freedom, he feels a unique vitality…. Friends of the Earth unite! ‘Peak Distric’t is a manifesto that wants to make everyone aware of the beauty of nature and its vulnerability, while celebrating the brotherhood and sisterhood of climbers in images.”
Have a gander, relax to the soothing tunes, and get fired up for your summer travel, whatever that may look like in the COVID-19 world.
