Weekend Whipper: A Jump Too Far

Who says toprope whips can't be epic?

In this whipper all the way from Thailand, Poksakon Chotikkrai demonstrates that falls can get gnarly even when you’ve got a toprope above you.

Poksakon, who just graduated high school and is about to study law at Thammasat University has redpointed up to 8b (5.13d) and V10. But even with those bonafides, he wasn’t sure if this particular climb at the North Walls, in Krabi, Thailand, would go. One local developer told Poksakon that if he could do the dyno move on a top rope, then he would bolt it.

This whipper is one of his attempts to stick the move. At present it remains undone, and the climb has no name—or bolts!—yet.

Happy Friday and climb safe this weekend!
