Brad Gobright and Ben Hanna Climb Dreefee (5.13d, 10 Pitches)

Located in the back of Red Rock’s Juniper Canyon, Dreefee works its way up The Rainbow Wall with 10 pitches of hard trad climbing, half of them 5.13. Brad Gobright was working the route in March 2017 when he fell 60 feet down the approach slabs and broke his ankle. He had to crawl out of the canyon over five hours to reach help, calling it “one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.” He came back for redemption in November of the same year with partner Ben Hanna. While Gobright has a long resume of hard trad ascents and free solos, Hanna had never climbed a multipitch route or led trad before. He doesn’t let that hold him back.
