Caveman is a classic Joshua Tree boulder problem located in Hidden Valley Campground. The climb can be done many different ways. The first ascent was done by John Bachar and the sit start or “yabo” start was added by John Long. Later harder variations like Monkeyclaw and Full Missing Link were added by Robert Miramontes and Rob Mulligan. In this video, Alan Moore demonstrates all the different ways this cave can be climbed.

Problems demonstrated:

  • Caveman (V6/7)
  • Caveman Sit (V10)
  • Monkeyclaw (V?)
  • Full Missing Link (V9)
