Watch Edu Marin claim the second ascent of WoGu, a 7-pitch 5.14b in Switzerland’s Ratikon range. Put up by Beat Kammerlander in the mid ’90s, the route includes four pitches of 5.14 and nothing easier than 5.13a. Kammerlander did not free the entire route. WoGu didn’t see a first free ascent until Adam Ondra redpointed it in 2008.

WoGu was named in honor of Wolfgang Gullich, the pioneer of sport climbing who developed the campus board and established the world’s first 5.14d, Action Directe, in Germany’s Frankenjura.
